What Is Delta-10 THC?

Delta 10 THC is an isomer of Delta 8 THC and Delta 9 THC. Delta-10 THC is a powerful cannabinoid native to the hemp flower and is very similar to Delta 8 THC in the way that it’s made. THC is extracted from the Hemp plant, then the Delta 10 is isolated and made into a distillate with less than 0.3% Delta-9-THC.

Delta-10 THC is one of the hundreds of cannabinoids you can find in cannabis and hemp. Unlike Delta-9 THC, which is mostly found in cannabis, Delta-10 appears in trace amounts within the Hemp plant and is extracted to create Delta-10 products. Essentially, Delta-10 THC is similar to Delta-9-THC found in Cannabis, but Delta-10 is found to be slightly chemically different than Delta-9-THC. Delta refers to the position of the double bond in THC’s chemical structure. Delta-10 has the double bond in the tenth position, while Delta-9 has this bond in the ninth position — and so on.

What is Delta-8 THC?

Delta-8 THC, also referred to as D8, THC, Δ8, and Delta-8, is a rare powerful cannabinoid native to the cannabis flower and found in the hemp plant. Delta-8 THC is slightly psychoactive but less intoxicating than Delta-9 THC. Delta-8-THC is an isomer of CBD, which is a derivative of hemp and CBD, a cannabinoid found in hemp with less than 0.3% Delta-9-THC. In other words, Delta 8 THC is sort of a middle ground between Hemp, Delta-9 THC and CBD. Users have described it as a different kind of high to Delta-9 THC without the negative side effects such as paranoia or anxiety.

THC stands for Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol or Δ-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (Δ-9-THC). It is a cannabinoid molecule in marijuana (cannabis) that is recognized as the main psychoactive ingredient, the substance that causes people who use marijuana to feel high. THC is just one of more than 400 different active substances and 60 different cannabinoid molecules that is contained in marijuana, although THC is the most recognized, Cannabidiol (CBD) is another important cannabinoid molecule that has received major interest.

The effects of Delta-8 will vary per person however most users have described Delta-8 THC as sweet spot between CBD and THC. D8 THC is known for euphoria, clarity and calming effects often resulting in a relaxed state of mind. Delta-8 used at lower doses can help give you the energy you may need to get through the day, while higher doses of Delta-8 can assist with relaxation and better sleep. Scientific research has shown that Delta-8 THC can act as a mood enhancer, reduce nausea, stimulate the appetite, and a variety of unique therapeutic properties that are still being discovered.

According to The National Cancer Institute, Delta-8 THC is defined as "an analogue of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) with appetite-stimulating, anxiolytic, antiemetic, analgesic and neuroprotective properties." They also stated that this agent exhibits a lower psychotropic potency than Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (Delta-9-THC), the primary form of THC found in cannabis.

What Does Delta-10 Feel Like?

Delta 10 THC is similar to sativa strains of marijuana. Users note that it gives an uplifting feeling, increases drive and motivation, and boosts energy levels. Delta-8 and Delta 10 THC can prompt euphoria without triggering anxiety or paranoia, which is a common side effect of using Delta 9 THC. While Delta 8 is often associated with deep relaxation, Delta 10 seems to produce “enlivening” effects like euphoria and a head-rush buzz. Delta 10 THC has psychoactive properties. Most scientists believe Delta-10 THC interacts directly with the ECS (Endocannabinoid System), just like Delta 9 or Delta 8. However, people who use Delta 10 often claim it’s nowhere near as intense as Delta 9.

Delta-10 is roughly half as potent as Delta-9 THC and is better than Delta-9 THC for promoting creativity, euphoria, flow states and focus. Δ10 appears to have less side effects than Δ9, these effects are likely going to make Delta 10 THC a staple in the cannabis industry over the next couple of years. If we could place Delta 8, 9, and 10 on a scale, we’d have Delta 8 on the far left (relaxing and relaxing) and Delta 10 on the far right (stimulating, creativity and motivation). Delta 9 would be somewhere in between the two.

What are the side effects of Delta-10 THC?

#1: GETTING “TOO HIGH”
Being psychoactive, Delta 10’s high, is typically described as pleasant and certainly milder than that of marijuana, but could be too much for people who are unfamiliar with this type of intoxicating sensation. Used at exceptionally high doses feelings could leat to anxiety and paranoia, and these symptoms could also occur among someone who is inherently overly sensitive to cannabinoids.

#2: HEADACHES
Similar to Delta 9 THC, and even Delta 8 THC at high doses, Delta 10 may give a headache to those who take moderately large doses of Delta 10 products. Otherwise, it is not very likely to get headaches from high quality Delta-10 products.

#3: DRY MOUTH, DRY EYES AND LIGHTHEADEDNESS
In general these three symptoms are all common among those with a lower tolerance to THC, and are absolutely not cause for concern, but can be temporarily unpleasant in a mild way. Dry mouth and eyes come from the cannabinoid’s effect on moisture levels pertaining to these areas of the body. Lightheadedness can result from a short-lived decrease in blood pressure, which wears off with the other effects of this compound.

Delta 10 THC products are brand new, so there is no type of medical research or comprehensive data pertaining to it as of yet, and more data and information is needed to understand other possible Delta-10 THC side effects. However, for now D10 THC looks like another great quality Hemp-Derived compound. In the near future, Delta 10 will have more information and studies from consumers. For now, these are standard side effects from what we see.

Will Delta-10 THC show up on a drug test?

Yes. All THC molecules will break down into THC metabolites, regardless of the THC formation they start out as. Which means, to a drug test, Delta-8 THC, Delta-9 THC, Delta-10 THC and THC will all look the same.

What Are Terpenes?

Terpenes are defined as aromatic oils that color cannabis varieties with distinctive flavors like berry, citrus, pine and mint, and they are secreted in the same glands that produce cannabinoids like THC and CBD. Terpenes were initially developed by plants for the adaptive purpose of repelling predators and pest. There are over 100 terpenes found in the cannabis plant and every strain of the cannabis plant contains a "unique terpene composition and type". Nowadays, terpenes are used to create flavors, scents and occasionally used for it's different feelings and sensations effects. Certain Terpenes may be able to help and provide assistance for physical effects such as Anti-Inflammatory Properties, Pain Relief, Antibacterial Properties, Antifungal Properties and Muscle Spasms. In addition Terpenes may also be able to help with mental issues including Depression, Anxiety, Insomnia and Stress.
